Grant writing skills

I saw an add for a grant writer the other day and some of the skills required included the following:

• Proven track record in securing new funding opportunities, as well as renewing funding opportunities
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to implement systems and follow-up processes
• Ability to effectively work under pressure
• Ability to use independent judgment and produce a quality work product within tight time constraints
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
• Proficient skills in Internet research/navigation and Microsoft Office suite, as well as online database resources (Foundation Center, etc.)
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to function as a member of a team to fulfill the team's responsibilities
• Ability to successfully manage a portfolio of 30-50 foundation prospects
